CSD Pirogue

Having seen the nice sailing pirogue built by Jim Stumpf, I decided to build one myself.  After many compilications, I acquired the plans drawn by Phil Bolger from http://www.common-sense-boats.com/pirogue.htm.

I haven't documented all of the steps, time and costs for this boat, but I do have a few photos.

If you look at the right side, you can see the gussets I used to stiffen that deck.
Also showing is the deck hatch opening that I built similar to the one on the other pirogue and the Mouse.  Another similar hatch is in the foredeck.

Realizing that there is no cleat for the rudder Trueman uses some good Neustadt 10W30 Beer to christen the boat "Bear Pie"
It floats! Paddling off - I'm sitting on a toolbox - much too high. I later sit on the bottom.
The crew keeps a weather eye out for plunder.
