One indespensable item in any shop needs to be a place to sit and think.  Recently I came across an excellently designed stool at http://www.factsfacts.com/MyHomeRepair/stool.htm   It seemed like a good idea so one afternoon, I rooted around the shop for 3/4" scrap lumber and came up with the stool shown below.  The sides are 3/4" plywood and the top is pine.  I didn't have a wide enough board for the top so I ended up doing it out of three pieces using my "easy jointing" method.  To ensure a fairly good fit between boards, I just run my circular saw down the joint.  It's not perfect, but works fairly well.  To stiffen the seat I also put an extra cleat down the middle.  A zoom around the top with the round-over bit and it's quite comfortable.  To fasten it, I used a combination of 2" screws, finishing nails and glue.  It will probably outlast me.

Just in case Jim's site goes down, the basic dimensions of the stool are:
20" wide X 12" deep X 14 3/4" high.
