Boat Rack

Having accumulated a few boats, storage has become a problem. Mostly, I've been stacking them one on top of the other which wasn't very good. So, I struggled for a few months now what and how to store the boats and thanks to a trip to the Welbeck Sawmill, I have a solution.

Large gate hinges have been bolted to the garage wall. I then bolted 2X4s to them, angled up slightly.

UPDATE - Spring 2007
After several years, with boats on the rack and a heavy snow load, the brackets started to pull the boards off the wall of the garage. Because of that, and the fact that the fleet of small boats is currently smaller, I dismantled the rack.
